Integration: the process of becoming whole –
whole in our imperfect realness

👯🤝🏼✨ Move & Include – this is one of the core values of the Open Floor movement practice. When we bring our bodies into motion, and stay with the movement improvisation for some time, all other parts of our being come into motion as well. Our feelings, emotions, thoughts, stories, imagination – everything that makes us us but might not be as visible as our physicality – comes into motion.

My own experience is that every time I step on the Open Floor, something comes home — I feel more whole, more me. I get closer to myself, to a sense of wholeness that I knew some time ago. An Aha! moment, I re-member. And every time some forgotten piece finds its way back home, the energy that was used to keep it away becomes available to me to use as I wish. I suddenly have more freedom. ⚖️🔮☯️

Orientating: finding our way in constant change

💩👹☠️ We all have parts that we wish weren’t ours — things that we (or others) believe to be negative, dark, broken, harmful. We avoid our weakness, ugliness, aggression, but often it’s also our joy, power or beauty that we are holding back. When we finally surrender and drop the resistance, these previously unwanted elements are woven back into the multidimensional network of our self. The new-old connections fuel us with new vitality and rearrange our internal landscapes — just a small pull on one side can ripple through the entire network.

So we need to redraw our maps and explore again how we are in the world as this newer self. Integration needs to go hand-in-hand with navigation, sense-making and patience.

And this is what we will do this weekend. Move & include. Breathe, dance, connect, observe, allow, make space, make sense, learn, and then move some more. Have some fun, face challenges, get excited or get bored, linger in the paradox. Celebrate our aliveness in all of its shapes. ♾️🌀🔄
